The Family Unit is a semi independent support unit for young people aged 16-21 yrs.

We operate in accordance with all the criteria identified and set by Placements North West regarding staffing, child protection and safeguarding. We maintain these standards through staff training and continual appraisal monitored through our quality assurance systems.

We endeavour to make the young person’s experience with us as participative, empowering, motivating, educational and challenging as possible but most importantly of all enjoyable while still achieving positive outcomes and so fulfilling their full potential as they become independent adults.

House Rules and Policies

Our aim is to provide a safe, secure, stimulating and caring environment whilst also respecting each person as an individual.

We strive to promote opportunities for young people to develop and plan for their own future which includes follow on accommodation and support once they reach the age of 18 years.

We ensure this is maintained by engaging the young people themselves in the maintenance of the house rules and the social behavioural agreement and each young person will receive a full induction on the accommodation, its rules and all appliances.

How to Refer

The first stage is for a completed referral and risk assessment form to be sent to the manager at the address below. Our referral packs are available on request.

We then contact the lead professional to discuss and arrange to meet with them and the young person.
